Appe receipe

Many of us know about appe.it is famously known as ponganalu in telugu states,paddu in karnataka.and appe in marathi.Its v tasty and can be made less or more spicy depending on one's taste by adjusting the no. If  chillies used in it.lets try it now.

INGREDIENTS:

Dosa batter - 2cups (in idli batter consistency)
Green chillies -3 or 4finely chopped
Chanda dal- 2tsp soaked for 15min
Salt
Curry leaves - a handful,finely chopped
Cumin - half tsp
Ginger garlic paste (optional) - 1/4 tsp
Oil - for frying
Turmeric - pinch

METHOD : 

Heat 2tsp oil in a pan or small kadai.when it's hot add cumin seeds,channa dal and chillies.fry for a min. add curry leaves,turmeric, ginger-garlic paste.When done for 1 or 2 min,mix it in the thick dosa batter. add salt.rest it for about 5-10min.
Now heat appe pan and add half tsp oil in each appe niche. Pour a ladle of the prepared batter in it and cover it.cook on medium flame.when the colour changes a little,flip it using a spoon.cook the other side until both sides are in light brown colour.

Serve hot with coconut or groundnut chutney.

Best served as breakfast or evening snack.
